Yay a non-pessimistic stamp from me
For once XD

I've gotten a LOT of "Youre Homophobic >...>" shit from people that I tell I hate yaoi.

COMPLETELY NOT TRUE.

One of my awsome friends is gay.

I completely respect homosexuality, but yaoi is just an over-the-top, in-your-face version of it.

Now before I get into my rant about yaoi (yeah its comin~) i just have one example~

As my friends/watchers know, my persona just had a set of twins that are her 8th and 9th boys. (yeah i know XD lotsa boys) studies show that the more boys a woman produces, the more likely the younger ones are to be gay. Su~ i was considering making them at least Bi, to, you know, give my charris variety. When i told this to two of my bestest friends in ze entire history of the world (not gonna name any names), one, who is a hard-core yaoi fan, gave me this look and said "You hate gay guys." plain and straight just like that.

i didnt have a response at the time because i was so taken aback, but i've been thinking about it, and yeah the activity gives me the creeps, but no, i dont hate gay guys.

Now onto my rant about yaoi. XD im sure you've all been waiting for it. XDDD

Yaoi.

Shounen-Ai.

Anime's version of boy's love.

And the straight-loving-fangirl's worst nightmare.

My personal opinion on it is that it's completely over-the-top, inflated shit that's made to the viewers' interest.

IRL, sure there are gay guys that are COMPLETELY girly, but there ARE guys who are completely NORMAL where you couldnt ever tell they're gay unless they tell you.

Fangirls make a big deal out of making guys into girls, as if their own girliness isnt enough.

You dont see big Yuri fanatics out there and making themselves known.

Theres another thing that ticks me off about yaoi. REAL guys are oft afraid to even admit that they're gay. IRL Guys are supposed to portray manliness, strength, and power; not ponies and pink and girliness. But girls, its a whole 'nother story. Girls you see them all the time hugging and kissing each others' cheeks and stuff, so it just seems more natural for girls to hang out as gay. yet yaoi fangirls make their characters demean themselves as they strut their homo-ness.

Ahh.. now that i got that off my chest |D;;;

EDIT: kay yah, i know that there is a difference between yaoi and shounen-ai. i've learned that in the time this has been up. *cough*alsolearnedthatshounen-aiizfun*cough*

Free to use~

Yaoi is in my opinion objectifying on gay men's behalf

I'm okay with boys' love anime that's actually written to be boys' love anime. Some of it's actually good. I even like some yaoi fan-preferred/noncannon couples when the coupling actually makes some halfassed amount of sense. What I don't like is yaoi fanfiction because it's almost always (as in like 95%) horribly written and clearly just an excuse for whatever thirteen year old girl to try her hand at writing straight up porn.

So I have just been reading some of the comments below, cause' I'm a creeper like that >: D.
In my opinion, (not saying that there are going to be people to agree with it) But Yaoi isn't exactly homophobic?

It's supposed to be a romantic story, and obviously when you write stories, such as myself with little experience, you like to make it feel un-realistic than daily life. Other-wise, romantic novels wouldn't really be exciting? I like yaoi, I admit, I'm a big fan. Yes, there are Yaoi's out there that are totally inappropriate, such as: rape, paedophilia, and explicit pornography. I DO NOT at all agree with these Yaoi's that are out there and do not intend to ever watch them, but just like everything, everyone prefers one thing from the other.

Mhm. There a few crazy fan-girls out there who DO go to the extreme, but that is up to them. They have the rights to do just as they like, so let them be. I think the only thing that would become homophobic of these fans is if they expect or think that every gay person is like a character in Yaoi. Which is totally idiotic as everyone has different personalities?

I am Bisexual, and I have met a few gay people myself who have watched Yaoi themselves, and they do love it. SO if anything, you guys are making it sound homophobic? There is only one thing that I do get annoyed about to do with this whole, "I hate yaoi." or "I hate slash." thing, is that there are MANY heterosexual (female and male) stories out there that have stereotypical living in it, and no-body complains? Deviantart has one of the most hypocritical members I have ever met and it's disgusting.

I respect all opinions, such as this stamps opinion and the ones below. I had thought to share an opinion of myself and I hope people here respect my judgement. If you disagree with what I have said, that is fine, do so.

- Thank you

I'm not homophobic either, but I don't like slash (essentially yaoi, I assume, but not anime); I find it out of character and somewhat needy.
My opinion. Don't flame up, anyone, please.

Actually, "slash" is characterized by being out of character. Normally slash is made to be fun and takes two unlikely characters and mashes them together for the writer/readers' pleasure.

Yaoi is different in that, while it may incorporate slash, is merely male-on-male porn. same with Yuri (For females) and hentai is for heterosexuals.
Shounen-Ai is different in that it is boy's love, but it's pretty tame compared to straight out yaoi. Shoujou-ai is the female version.

I'm not homophobic, but I like shonen-ai, shojo-ai, or het.
Yaoi/yuri sometimes scares me cos' occasionally (a lot) there's no plot, just fanservice.
I'm terrified of sexual things, so yea...
but I get what you mean with the girly-ness. it bugs me too XD

I completely agree! I'm a "yaoi fangirl" but I hate the watered down sh!t that most people go on about or expect you to like or you're not a true fan of the bloody thing. I enjoy what I do for the realistic story that can bring tears to my eyes, make me genuinely laugh and feel what the characters feel. Whether it is "yaoi/yuri" or otherwise. Most fans of yaoi (in my opinion) only get into it because it's "hot" or they're "prettyboy"s. Just... endlessly grinds my gears.

I dislike yaoi because of how stereotypical it is to gays with the "seme" and "uke" things. And the fangirls scare this shit outta me (I mean just the crazy ones), if they watched real gay porn they would freak xD. Also you never see lesbian porn for lesbians only for straight guys, with straight girls paid a lot for shitty acting, but that's a different issue.
