Language Stamp by sewreel Language Stamp by sewreel
i know how badly language barriers can affect people.

(im a victim of them XD)

so~ i decided to make a stamp dedicated to respect for others' language.

if i missed your big, common language, sorry; thats why i put in the *insert language here* thing. i thought of this thing last night at 10:30 while in bed.

I've been bashed by an English "grammar nazi" once. Even bullied. Goddamn, English is not my first language! I speak Portuguese! DX

Indeed. I think that there should be another stamp which talks about varieties of a language. For example, British/American English or, in my case, Spanish because when foreign people meet me and know that I'm Spanish, they say "¡y ándale!" or "carajo" when I don't say those words because in Spain we don't say so (this is just an opinion that came up while looking at this stamp). Or also regarding words like "burrito", which is not Spanish but Mexican (I think so) and then they say "no, I'm not going to say 'churros' because they are not from Spain", when "churros" ARE from Spain.

And, another example, and regarding this stamp (which I really like) is when I say that I know English and a bit of Chinese (I've been learning it for three years), Chinese people expect me to know almost everything about Chinese and they say things which discourage me T_T So sad!!

I speak English myself but I try to keep in mind not everyone else does so I do my best to forgive misspellings and sometimes just to just understand what they're saying in their native language. Still learning but I know a few words in many languages, most of them thank you or it rough translation.

Well, for us who doesn't know either Portuguese or Spanish, they sound VERY alike! :X But I know how you feel! Its just the same with Norwegian, Danish and Swedish. I'm Norwegian, but somtimes people can mix it with Swedish or Danish!
